no computer is safe from viruses. You still need a firewall and anti-virus programs. It is just that most virus-writers (crackers) do not write for a mac.

There are very few viruses targeted for Macs, so you should be all right. Check your security settings and adjust them as needed. Of course, it also depends on what you're downloading and from where, but otherwise you'll be safe surfing and downloading from the web with the settings set on low.

Chances are, you are safe. Most adware, spyware, and viruses are written for windows based software. You should still exercise caution though.

uhh yes and no viruses are most commonly created to attack windows desktops. (h4xx0r3s think mac users suffer enuf) but yea i guess there should be a few mac viruses out there

Use Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.com, AVG from www.grisoft.com both free. Add a couple more anti-spy packages like CyberDefender for money and you will be okay.
