No, a gorilla does not weigh more than a lion. An adult male gorilla can weigh 310-440 pounds, with 500 the maximum in the wild and 600 for an overweight one in captivity. An adult male lion can weigh 330-500 pounds with an average of 410. So it is very close but a lion is heavier on average.

There are so many variables like is the lion male or female same with the gorilla male or female most likely a full grown male gorilla will out weigh a lion male or female

Well no, The Full grown male silverback gorilla will be overweight at 600 lbs. A full grown male lion in his prime can attain a hefty wieght of 700 lbs. However, I would want the gorilla in my corner!!! You know thumbs and all!!!

Yeah. Fully mature adult gorillas can be 500lbs. Lions do not get that big. Now, tigers, they can match the girth of a gorilla.
