Like the moon turning red, being able to see venus, or like an eciplse
because i always seem to miss these things

Well, this depends somewhat on where in the world you live...if I'm in the U.S and it's noon, I won't get to see a lunar eclipse in Asia where it's midnight.

That said, you should really check out the transit of Mercury. Mercury passes directly between us and the Sun, and you can see it pass over the Sun's bright disc. It will be visible for most of the western hemisphere this Wednesday, Nov. 8th. This event won't happen again for another decade.

You'll need some kind of telescope with adequate solar protection (I can't stress this enough - you will go blind if you look through a telescope at the Sun without a proper solar filter). If you don't have this, ask your local planetarium or science center...they may have some public viewing event. Otherwise, check out the live webcast below.
