To reduce the glare from the sun or even the lights. My 11 yr old girl's soccer team did it once, along with a bit of growling, to intimidate their opponent. It didn't work. They lost anyway. But it was fun to watch.

Reduces glare from sun or stadium light. Some are stickers other is eyeblack. Black, grease like stuff the size of lipstick.

the theory behind this is the dark patches shield the eyes from the sun almost like wearing sun glasses, thats the theory anyway, i really dont think it works .
