Wow, you have asked quite a few very good questions. I can tell you are trying to be a good owner to your bunny. It's ok to eat the pine shavings but hay is a better bedding for a bunny and they need to eat quite a bit of hay to stay healthy.

Do NOT use Pine or Cedar shavings! They have little particles in them that can cause respiratory diseases like Snuffles. That's how I lost mine =( Use Aspen instead. It's a bit more expensive, but its safer and aborbs more urine and odour.

Rabbits should only eat pellets in small amounts because their diets should be primarily Timothy Hay.

Do NOT feed your bunny lettuce on a regular basis. It's ok for a little treat once in awhile (as long as it is NOT iceburg lettuce, it should be romaine), becase the high water content in lettuce can cause diarhea.

At the bare minimum, your bunny needs a water source, pellets, a salt lick and alfalfa hay (I prefer the OxBo brand). Timothy is good for older bunnies who don't get much exercise, because it is lower calorie. A growing bunny needs all the calories it can get.

You might want to invest about $3.00 in a paperback book at a pet store that will tell you almost everything you need to know about rabbits. There is additional information available on-line.

It's normal. It probably won't do too much damage but you should get him on a proper diet. If he's only a month he still should have a mother to get milk from. You should also give small amounts of Timothy hay and a few pellets. Like all growing babies, he needs different foods from that of an adult. Aspen shavings are the best. Keep offering him the pellets, and give him a handful of Timothy hay every day. DON'T feed him very many raw greens, especially at his age. Too many greens can give him diarrhea. Keep treats to a minimum. :-)
