trust me if they were smart they would wear a cup in football. In middle school our coach would walk up and hit us with his clip board to make sure we were wearing a cup. If they arent in your schools they should make sure the kids do. (probably not how our coaches did it though)

None of these people are giving the REAL answer. That is that in football it is a sport of speed. In baseball they only run from one case to the other or to go catch the ball in the outfield. It is alot less running though. If you talk to Football players though and ask them you will likely hear it is because they can't run as fast with the cup. Think about it and it makes sense. Oh and to the ones saying oh they should be guess what, most PROS and College players DON'T. It slows them down. That is why it is getting more common for them to not wear them in High School and trickling down more now. As to oh they need to protect themselves most don't wear them so they won't do anything. After all if you take a cheap shot then your opponents are likely to get back at you.

I always wore one for both sports. I had no idea that some weren't, but from the responses so far, I guess that it is indeed the case. And yes, the previous reasons given make a lot of sense too. I would still think that protecting the '' jewels'' would be more of an issue though. Football is a dirty game. There are a lot of '' cheap shots'' that happen and when you are under the pile, anything can and will happen. Eyes get raked and poked, hands get stepped on, etc. I don't know if you know what it feels like to get hit there, but it's not a pain that goes away easily. It makes your body just kinda freeze.

About the only baseball player you'll find wearing a cup is the catcher (played little league, through high school and legion ball, a year of college, and a year of semi-pro). And the only football players I ever saw wear one were some (not all) RBs (played through 2 years of college).

football players are real men. the only one on my team who wear it is the starting rb/lb/punter and he feels he gets a lotta cheap shots so he wants to protect himself. most of the time, if you have good posture/position of your body when you run the ball or tackle someone, you won't need a cup, whereas in baseball its unexpected and harder to control.

I be conscious which you have asked this 4 situations. i'm questioning you could properly be coming up a complicated. Your baseball cup would desire to be high-quality. have faith me, in case you could slide into bases, and dive around the outfield in it... you could play soccer in it additionally.
