this is a very simple question however i want to find out what other people think. for me we need money for luxury stuff. please tell us what you think. thanks!

well, society needs money to function..if everything was free people wouldn't be able to moniter their greediness and no one would do any work. we'd all be couch potatoes 24/7..but there'd be nothing to watch because there'd be no tv shows or movies because no one would be working at all!
a person needs money to survive, and if you don't want to become homeless. And of course you need money if you want to buy luxurious things, but in reality that's not a necessity. You should have enough money to get food and clothes and everything, splurging if you feel so inclined...but then you should also give back some money if you have enough..to the starving kids in africa!

We need money like we need time. Money serves as a common unit of measure that everyone understands. Barter would be good but it is not constant. they say "fair exchange is no robbery" but how do you do it? If your child needed brain surgery you could say you will do the gardening for the surgeon as payment. But it would take you way too long to pay it off. Because the shrubs and grass can only grow so fast. And if a person traded car repair with one person who could offer a certain amount of meals free at their restaurant, but the next person had no restaurant or could not cook, but wanted to trade a boat for repairs. It may not work. If the mechanic already had a boat, or did not like to go boating or fishing. There would be no fair way to value anything. How would you ever own a home? You could not barter your way with all the craftsmen that build it, the carpet guys, tilers, roofers, plumbers etc. It will be a 12 hour a day job just trading work with them, or trading with others to get items to trade with them for the work on your house. Money makes all that mess cleaner and more easier to track, as well as the value or increase of value. that is why we have and need money.

Because it's to hard to carry cows and pigs around to use .
