not financially but in history, culture and pride - yes they are the richest by far. what other country could maintain it's history, culture, language and religion for over 180 years when it didn't even exist?!?!?

It is not poor, but it is not rich enough. In comparison with countries around it, Poland comes third in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) after its eastern neighbor Germany, and the big guy Russia. On a personal level however, the per capita purchasing power is not as strong as its southern neighbors, Czechia and Slovakia. It is about the same level as Lithuania, and stronger than Belurussia, Russia and Ukraine, but remains at less than half of the per capita purchasing power in Germany.

IT DEPENDS HOW YOY INTERPRET RICH.
YES IT IS RICH IN HISTORY, CULTURE,NATURAL RESOURCES, ETC, BUT AS FINANCES GO, IT IS LIKE ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, HAS ITS DEBTS. DON'T FORGET THAT POLAND IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN EUROPE THAT IS STILL PAYING IT'S DEBTS FROM THE SECOND WORLD WAR. MOST OTHER COUNTRIES HAD THEIR DEBTS WAIVED, BUT NOT POLAND.

no, but that's what makes travel to eastern europe so popular. you can enjoy yourself just as much as western europe for about 1/3 the cost. western europe is over-hyped.
