My husband and I have chnaged the power supply, scanned for viruses, adware, and traking cookies and nothing. Our CPU temp is 33 C. We are using Windows XP pro. We have also reinstalled our Video card.

display settings are either too low or too high or video card is getting too hot what mb and video card and what game are you trying

According to Microsoft, this problem, and many others like it, are caused by an incorrect installation of the video drivers specific to your video hardware. Make sure that everything is right, and the problem will go away....I had the same problem with an ATI Radeon 9200 card and XP Home.

Look inside the computer, and blow out any dust with a can of pressurized air.

You said the temperature is 33 C. Is that when it's not doing anything?

My two guesses are:
overheating (solution: working fans, clear out the vents)
video card (what kind is it? does it have the latest drivers?)

GO to manufacturers website and download latest driver for your model graphics card.Uninstall current driver before installing new driver.

try deleting some unused programs,make more room on your hard drive
