Birth control pills do not normally cause birth defects but most doctors recommend that you be off of them for several months before getting pregnant.

Here are some things to know while taking the pill. Also after she gets off of the pill, and she conceives a baby, there shouldn`t be a problem with birth defects. Here are some facts to know while taking the pill.

The effectiveness of the pill is lowered when taken with several medications, including most antibiotics, anti-seizure medications, tuberculosis medication including INH, and migraine medications. St. John's Wart also interferes with the effectiveness of the pill. You can get pregnant if you are taking any of these drugs and not using a back-up method. Make sure you tell the health care provider, or pharmacist that you are taking herbal supplements.

If the doctor thinks you should take it and if you and your parents trust the doctor, take it. You may ask for a second opinion from another doctor. You are not going to take medicine indefinitely, you will leave it. Believe me, if you are ever raped, which I don't think you will, and I hope not, and get pregnant, you will not want that baby, and have an abortion. New clothes are always fun. I have never heard of birth control making your boobs bigger though. EDIT I have heard that it causes depression so take a second opinion from a doctor. I

Birth Control is meant to keep your girl from getting pregnant. Why would you think the side affect a baby with birth defects? The US FDA is very strict on letting any women of child bearing age take a drug that causes deformity. The only drug I can think of is acutane, for the control of acne- all women must take birth control if you want that drug.

Let me just explain the shot, or the MIRACLE form of birth control(so I thought when used for 8 years to eliminate cramps). I was with someone for a long time, they used to get frustrated they did not feel they "turned me on". I had no idea what they meant, I loved sex, and with him. One day while watching a crime show about convicted molestors being released into society they talked to DR.'s who administered DEPRO-VERA(the shot) to these men. Medically it is called chemical castration(prevent arousal or makes an erection physically impossible).
This was back before every home had the internet, and I asked the DR the next time my shot was due. She had no idea what I was talking about, but we got the questionaire they used to have women fill out before each shot was administered. On this questionaire it asked about your increase or decrease of sex, and asked about your vaginal discharge. My doctor told me 3 months later she did some research, Depro was quite new and she did not like a lot of what she found out. Women will stop having discharge, that make sex less pleasant for the man and the women due to no natural lubrication. It also may eventually make it impossible for a woman to climax, the fluids just dry up down there. So DEPRO in increased doses makes a man UNABLE to have sex(chemical castration) , and in prolonged small doses in women just makes her unable to produce vaginal fluids ( now I see why my partner at one time was having issues about satisfying me).

I have never met another female on Depro who was informed it is used in males to eliminate sexual activity. I cannot understand why they dont provide this information. Earlier this year while at a new DR, I put on my patient questionaire I took DEPRO for 8 years. They told me it has been linked to brittle bones in women who took the drug, and now all doses administered in the US have a warning not to use for more then 2 years.

If you love this girl, be as concerened with what she puts in her body for your benefit.
