I find it very difficult to write a letter rejecting someone. It's hard to tell them you don't want to date (or marry or whatever) them and not hurt their feelings any more than you have to.

I would diverge from popular oinion and say a secret admirer letter, especially if you have no idea how the person feels about you.

I did this once in HS and had the letter read back to me in the ladies locker room by a third party. I never did that since.

angry letters or complaining letters are easy, all you have to do is get the point through

the asking kind you have to word things carefully and make sure they get the point but be subtle..etc
