You know you are right why should they go to the head of the line wen there are others who never did damage them selves to get there and have to wait?

The hospital is obliged to treat you, no matter how you get there. Alcoholism is a disease, or in the very least a condition of the mind. It is not simply when one is excessively fond of liquor, for I doubt most people would want to continue drinking after they experience delirium tremens.

I doubt that it will state on the transfer list how exactly the organs were damaged. Even if it does, if we were to refuse those people transfers on the basis that they put themselves there, what type of world would that be? If you were to punish everyone for their mistakes to such a degree, you would soon have to commit suicide when you realise what you are doing is morally wrong.

Everyone on that transfer list, even criminals, has a right to an organ transplant when a suitable donor is found. It may be up to the donors or their families who will decide to whom their organs may go, however.

That sounds like playing God. Who among us can judge the value of one life over another? Does the alcoholic deserve life less than a non-alcoholic?

Thankfully, that's not the way things work. If you need a transplant, you are put on a a regional list, which is rather on a "first come, first served" basis. Even so, many people wait years for their name to come up.

Someone who has damaged thier liver or any other organ from abuse of alcohol or smoking or any other substance that is know to hurt the human body should never be considered for organ transplant as long as there are others who deserve a chance to live.

If they get a transplant from a very good donor, they will live longer, if they stop the alcohol thing. But if they continue abusing them self, surely they will go first.

people who are in the worst condition goes first, regardless of how they got there. Do you not think that these people regret how they got to that point.
Lets just say it was your cousin who had drank himself nearly to death and he needed a transplant, wouldn't you want him to have the same chance as any one else? Yes you would.
