Look, im a new mom with a lot of questions. I asked earlier if there were any ways i could encourage her to crawl. i do nothing but encourage her, but she is taking a while to learn new things, and i was concerned. but someone just had to criticize me on something that they simply took the wrong way. if you didnt have some advice for me, why'd you even bother acknowledging my question? when i say she is lazy, i mean she just sits there and eat, without even trying to learn to sit up or move or anything. im enterested in learning how to teach her to crawl, thats all.

a first child is hard to teach anything too. I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old and honestly my 2year old is about as developed as my 1 year old because no one can teach a baby things like another baby. Yes babies usually crawl backwards first if they crawl forward at all. I dont know what your question is or how old your baby is as I never read your first question but just bear with it the 1st is always the hardest to teach while have two it at the same time the eldest teaches the youngest everything and thats not always good LOL!!! keep in mind all babies are different so I am sure yours is just fine

i don't know how old your baby is, but babies aren't "lazy," they just learn at different rates of progress. she sounds pretty smart to me...why crawl, when i something yummy to sit here and eat? lol. she may have some developmental delays...it's hard to say. talk to your pediatrician if you're concerned. you can put her favorite food or toy a few feet in front of her to encourage moving toward it to get the "reward." do that for a few days, then move it a few inches farther away. when you're playing with her, put a hand under her tummy and get her on hands and knees, and just support her with your hand at first so she can get the hang of balancing, and make it fun...some babies never crawl...i had one who just stood up and walked while holding onto furniture...some babies are scooters, some crawl backward...its very individual. if you pre-praise, and encourage her to crawl to you, and make a big thing out of it when does, you will have more success i think. you'll be chasing her around before too long. ;)

I had 4 babies and each was different from the other my earliest crawler was 6 mos and my latest was never she walked first by the way my earliest did not walk until he was almost 2 years old. If you want to try an encourage her then put several of her favorite toys around her and just sit back and watch. My kids would get up on there hands and knees and rock back and forth, it was so cute. Try not to worry babies have never read the books about when they are supposed to do certain things just enjoy all that they do. Also don't worry about what people say everybody thinks that they are experts.

You didn't say how old your baby was? My friend's grandbaby started crawling at 6 mo. My granddaughter who is 4 days younger than his just started crawling at 8 mo. Before that she scooted and rolled where she wanted to go. We (grandmas and grandpas,Mom and Dad, Aunt's and Uncles) tried everything from tempting her with toys, bottles any trinket she seemed interested in and coaxed her. My grandson just rolled around the floor till he was 9 mo. old. My Mother had a child within a couple of mo. before my older sis was born and he crawled at 3 mo.Something we have noticed is that baby see / baby do. If ya have a friend or relative with a baby that already crawls to come over and let your child watch could speed things up a little . So DON't WORRY, BE HAPPY!!!!! As far as lazy goes YOU WILL WISH SHE WAS AS SOON AS SHE FIGURES OUT THIS CRAWLING THING!!! ONCE THEY LEARN TO CRAWL THEY WILL BE INTO EVERYTHING!!! Cause if they can crawl to it they will pull themselves up on it and that's when the games begin and your child's name changes to "NO " NO!!!!!

many babies scoot backwards at first. their upper bodies are more developed than their lower ones. the hip joints need to be sufficiently strong enough the ever growing baby's' weight. they eventually rock on all 4s and , when ready they will creep and crawl.some babies never do the "normal" crawl. if you are concerned about your little girl being developmentally impaired, please check with your pediatrician. if there is a reason for your worries, do all you can to rule out something physical. she may have a metabolic problem. you can't teach your baby everything. there are some things that they need to figure out themselves. These things are called development milestones. if for some reason these steps are skipped, the baby may be at risk for learning difficulties later. please, don't be judgmental towards your sweet baby. though children are a trial at times, they are such joys!!!

Some kids take longer on crawling, walking, etc. If she is more than 3-6 months behind then you should be concerned, otherwise don't get too worked up about it. Talk to her pediatrician to get better and more informed opinions.

Give her time. She will do it. Every baby does it at their own pace, and it depends on muscle control and will power.

Put toys just out of reach of her, so she has to go get them. If that doesn't work, put her bottle just out of reach. Make her work for it

My daughter was 10 months when she crawled, and 17 months when she walkes, my son was 5 months when he crawled, and 7 months when he walked.

She's not lazy, just unmotivated. :-)

my daughter was very lazy too when she was small like that lol it's good that you want her to learn new things but some babies take longer then others just keep trying she will get it before you know it she will be running, telling you no,and demanding her own way lol

She is obviously NOT ready to crawl IF she crawls at all. She is NOT lazy YOU put that label on your child NOT me. Your chld is a BABY she will grow and develop and mature at her own pace, get some parenting skills or that poor baby is going to have a hard time.
