I would say that I am cautious, not conscientious. That is the reason that I like the 360º pages. You can get a sense of what a person is like as long as you are intuitive and trust your instincts.

I was initially extremely reticent about befriending people online. It's a lot harder building trust when you can't gauge someones facial expressions, mannerisms, tone of voice... all the subconscious cues we use to evaluate people in day to day life. I guess I got incredibly lucky and met some of the most amazing, creative, intelligent people I've ever met... online or off. I now have people I consider my very close friends, even though we've never met in person. Strange, the cyber world... in many ways, good and bad.

I feel that way about getting to know/ meeting all people online, not necessarily just on yahoo answers.

Unfortunately there are too many weirdos out there, so I try to ignore my affinity for certain people online, and focus on relationships I have with people in the real world.

Yes. Sometimes you think you really do know someone, but in this cyber world -- bam! -- the very next minute you get blindsided and wonder if you ever really even knew them at all. It's hard to find good, honest people in this kind of forum.

Jackpot. I have several that I consider aces in my book, but I always seem to hesitate. Although, in my case it isn't a strange reason. I met someone from Y!A, and she mislead me. Now I hesitate to let anyone from here into my life. I may respect some, yourself included, but I now keep them at arm's length.

Yes, there are a few I would extend a paw of friendship to, but I'm afraid that they might take it the wrong way, especially the females.

I think we're all hesitant to get to know people online because it takes about 100 weirdos and perverts in your way of one really truly decent online personality to be real.

there are some interesting people on this site, but i think most are hesitant about getting out from the cover of anonymity, which is what a site like this provides. there are the whacked ones out there that spoil it for the rest.....

There seem to be some really great people here, and a few who intrigue me.
I think it would be fun to meet some of them, but in a setting where their anonymity would not be compromised, unless they chose to reveal themselves.
