The speakers work and came originally with the computer. After plugging it into my computer, I went to control panel and it still said "no audio device." So i need a new sound card or do I need to like install a program or something?

Your PC must be very old if a sound card is not installed already. Maybe you should go back to 'Sounds and Audio Devices' (in the Control Panel) and troubleshoot the hardware, if you haven't already....

if you see a speaker icon in the icon try (lower right corner of screen) then you need to click it twice and see if:

1 its muted

2 the volume is turned up for wave or cd or master volume.
If you do not have the icon.. then you need to do the following:
click Start, Settings, control panel, system, device manager, sound.
If there is an issue with the preexisting soundcard.. this is where you will find it. You may have to reinstall drivers, change an option or two, there may be a conflict with another device, or the sound card may be damaged or disconnected from it's socket.
Write me if you need step by step help.
good luck..

Okay if its saying no audio device then you are probably having with the sound card. I doubt you will need a new one but perhaps just uninstalling the drivers and then installing the newest ones.
