my windows XP said on the boot screen i had my trend chip away virus(r) on guard and when i continued the windows XP blue loading bar screen was the farthest i could go until it restarted without a warning soon i asked over the web and got a reply that i tried choose safe mode then f8 it got me to a screen that said disable automaic restart i chose that and then a blue screen came up saying "unmountable_boot_volume" and it told me to disable the BIOS cache and shadowing can someone help me get my comp out of this automatic restart!!!

automatic restart wont stop the blue screen you need to run repair on the windows setup cd and run chkdsk /p and fixboot chkdsk has to have a space and / p or it wont fix disk it will say volume looks good and not check it but if you want right click on my computer and select properties then the advanced tab under system recovery uncheck restart

I had this problem with my old pentium 3, i just turned off trend chip away virus (r) and it worked fine, but that was running Windows 98.
