Listen to me, I used to be an auditor.

Don't tell anyone anything about it. Shut up.

Unless: you brought hard, admissable evidence with you out of the building when you were working there and still have it, evidence that should lead to a FELONY conviction.

Got it? Hard, ADMISSABLE evidence that should lead to a FELONY conviction. If you don't understand this, find out. If you don't have it, tell no one anything. "A wise heart concealeth the matter."

you do realise that they could sue you for slender. I'm not suggesting that you're not telling the truth but you know ... Places like that usually have fierce lawyers who would make mince meat of you. Then, when looking for another job, at a time you would need a reference ... They wouldn't give you one and you would be known as the person who did so much damage to another company. It would make employers think twice about taking you on, always worried that what you did to this other place ... You might do to theirs. I think you're still very angry about the way you were treated but you really need to move on!

Unless they violated some laws--like Walmart forcing people to work unpaid overtime--the paper does not care that your boss was a jerk. And even if they did violate the law, unless it's a buzz-worthy name like Walmart that people want to hear scandals about, they'd pretty much need to be murdering the employees and selling their bodies as dog food before the paper would care.

Find another job... but keep in mind you will find things like this at all jobs. So, if you don't want to go job hunting and you are content with what you do and the pay you receive to do it... once you walk out the door leave the job behind the door.

Yes, definitely do go to the papers. Bad employers should be named and shamed, if only to try and make them better employers.

if you're really not in it for the money, you can contact some of the papers covering this company, and offer to do an interview - usually, reputable news sources dont pay for people to tell the truth or offer a quote or two, so if you have nothing to lose, include your name as well.

As the English philosopher Edmund Burke said,

‘The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men (and women!) to do nothing.’

You definitely should. I'd guess the more that is known about the company, the less chance of them being able to do whatever they did again.

Research the whistleblower laws in your state before you call anyone. If you don't care about being known publicly, then go straight to the press.

You absolutely should tell the press about it. People should be made aware of things like these so they can make informed decisions and educated purchases. I don't really understand why you would have reservations about speaking openly about it.
