Let me let you in on a little something the school will never teach you....
No school needs "funding" at all, they only act like they do and put you kids up to doing the begging for them because most people cant turn you down. They get thousands upon thousands of dollars each year in the form of state taxes by taxing everyone who lives within the school's distict for "new equiptment, new books,building matienance, etc...". Did you know they even get paid a certain amount each & every single day just for you , the student to be at the school?! That is the only reason attendance is sooo important to them. Class dues are just another sneaky way to get more quick cash. Most of it gets stashed away though or ends up in the form of a hefty raise the employees give themselves when no one's looking. Can you justify a school buying 20 or 30 new computers every few years for a computer lab that you're not allowed to use? Guess who gets those hardly used computers when the brand new ones roll in...sure isnt the students or local taxpayers!

Here's an idea (maybe it will inspire better ideas):
You should first make a list of exactly where the money will go (uniforms, travel for a specific event, etc.). Next, create a web site and upload videos (including sound) of your band. On the web site (and appeal in the video, too), make it clear how much money is needed and exactly what it is for. Perhaps keep a daily tally going on the web site as you bring in money. Send the URL of your web site to all parents in the school who have e-mail (get your school to sponsor your appeals).
This is an imperfect idea, but perhaps your bandmates plus your teacher can build on it. All the best to you!

You can try a jail & bail. You "arrest" school officials & charge 'em with bogus crimes. Then they have to phone around for money to bail them out.You can arrest anyone you think will help your cause,and set the bail $ at whatever you think that person can afford.

Hold Car Washes, sell candy and or magazines!! Do raffles and Bake Sales!

Hold a car wash
Sell license-plate brackets with your school's name and mascot on them
