No. All the other sports in America have tried to expand while they were hot and it only ended up watering down their product. The NFL should keep it the way it is so it will keep their product fresh. Besides, a team could make now with an 8-8 record. If the field was expanded, then a team with a losing record would be able to make it in.

No, there are 2 wild card teams from each conference. The #1 and #2 best conference teams get a bye the 1st round and team # 3 plays the lowest wild card(#6) and team #4 plays the higher wild card (#5). Week 2, team 1 plays the winner from the 4/5 game and team 2 plays the 3/6 winner.
