First she either needs to get the LD aide to help her or get rid of them.
She could try and put them in little groups it some times is easyer to get them to be nicer if they are seperated then one big class.

oh my god... Poor her... I would have the LDs boss come in while she is sleeping... and have your mom have a new disipline tecnique. I would suggest a stack of refferals for a visual ... and just do what super nanny does ... one warning and the axe falls ... Does the school support detention? Is there a fair punishment that can be given? for offenders>>> .. can she tell the parents or tape VIDEO .. the children to show the parents the great behavior??? My favorite is extra homework and a conference with the parents.. her hands may be tied due to how the principal runs the school . she just needs a good plan that her principal supports... she cant do a whole lot with out that approval. But I would say to her .. get hard and write one or two refferals ... and get the..LD aide well a new job sleeping some place else.... .. Your poor mom.

Yes Your mom needs to have the Principle in her class for a while and ask that sleeping aide to shape up or he/she is gone teachers have a responsibility to make sure all students follow rules and not create a unstable learning class room she needs to show that she isn't going to stand around and let these kids control her class toughen up mom your the teacher and the adult !!!

If these are problem kids, which I have to assume they are, only calls to their parents at home during dinner hour about specific poor behaviors of each child will help.
They are probably afraid of their mom and dad, and that type of very specific call to their homes detailing one or more specific poor behaviors should do the trick. Also have a truthfully nice thing to say about each child, like the child has potential to succeed.
Once the word gets out that you have called ten of them, the rest could come into line. If not within three days, call 5 more parents and so on.

mmkay. i'm a quiet, sweet student according to my teachers.
my class is cccrrraazzyy.
but i get just as annoyed as my teahcers do at times, and i come home with head aches.
some kids get an sttitude if the teacher has one, so maybe she should punish, and be extremely strict on the bad kids and the okay kids, she shouldnt punish and keep the same nice attitude she starts her day off with.!
hopefully this helps.

They need gym or something where they have some physical activity before the end of the day. I know that's not practical, but it's pent up energy that's causing the problem. I guess your mom could have them do 5 minutes of stretching exercises and things like squats before she starts class. I wish her luck. Tell her thanks, too.

get a video recorder and put it in the room then if you catch them being bad, on parent teacher conference show them the tape if that does not work have the principal sit in the classroom that way there will be some discipline

She needs to know how to reach them. Or she could always do what my 12th grade government teacher did make us stand up in class and sing a song when we where bad.
