"At the risk of seeming ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love. It is impossible to think of a genuine revolutionary lacking this quality." Che Guevara

This is something I found on him! By the article I say yes!!!
Cuba was a nation of 6.5 million in 1959. Within three months in power, Castro and Che had shamed the Nazi prewar incarceration and murder rate. One defector claims that Che signed 500 death warrants, another says over 600. Cuban journalist Luis Ortega, who knew Che as early as 1954, writes in his book "Yo Soy El Che!" that Guevara sent 1,897 men to the firing squad. In his book "Che Guevara: A Biography," Daniel James writes that Che himself admitted to ordering "several thousand" executions during the first few years of the Castro regime. (NEWS MAX)

I think he would LIKE to be remembered as a Guerilla Leader... slayer of the oppresors of the working class... BUT:
Che Guevara was a Medical Doctor from Argentina who fell in love with Communism. He was expelled from Argentina and fled to Cuba... he became Castro's doctor during the Revolution.
During the Revolution he signed the death warrants of thousands of Cubans. There are RUMORS that he was too popular for Castro, and fancied himself a revolutionary general guerilla.
He then left to the former Belgian Congo to forment revolution there but failed and fled to Bolivia... where he was killed by government soldiers.
So in reality... he was a failure as a guerilla... and never ruled so he can't be called a "tyrant", merely a psychopath

A run of the mill commie thug. Which explains the obsession that he enjoys posthumously with the youth (or is it ute) in our culture.
