I read that this guy called them up and wanted to cancel his account and the rep tired to talk him out of it. the rep kept badgering him and wouldn't do what he wanted. However the guy was recording this the entire time and posted it on the internet. AOL got so much flack about it they had to apologize and I think that caused them some legal issues.. hope this helps!

They took on more customers than they had the capacity to serve. You would just get a busy signal trying to log on. They were ordered by the Feds to bring it up to par. There are more recent suits, I think that one was the first.
