The Republican and Democratic parties are like the largest street gangs in the entire USA. Now, you don't HAVE to join either one of them, but supposedly doing so will afford you some kind of "protection" against the neglect and abuses of government. Do the right thing. Be an Independent.
This year, the way I am seeing it is that the Republicans have made a horrible mess of everything, so given the complete lack of other viable options by way of getting rid of them, I'm siding with the Democrats. That way, the Republicans can come back after they know whose vote is important - that would be the "swing voter," and really offer us something worthwhile. Or maybe they will again offer me religion as a substitute for workable social and education programs again. This year, I'm voting as someone who doesn't think college tuition should outpace inflation. I'm voting as someone who doesn't believe anyone should have to give up all their possessions just to stay alive a little while longer. I'm voting as someone who recognizes that the present divisions of wealth and labor that exist in my nation do not make for a sustainable society, and that is a condition which historically represents a more serious problem for the extremely wealthy than it does for those with nothing to lose. And don't get me started on the whole "lies, corruption, and hypocrisy" thing.
The differences and similarities between the two gangs seem to change over time. They tend to fight back and forth over "turf," and so much time and so many resources are expended in those activities that very little attention is paid to what is stated in the documents that make up the foundation of our system of government as "the common Welfare."
The party to be in is your own party. Don't join a gang. Do your homework on candidates and who they represent. Then your vote is well-informed AND contested. Then they have to wonder if you're being represented, and that's a lot better than to have them simply assume that if they follow the party line, then that automatically means they are representing their constituents. This is an idea that seeks to remove the notion of intellectual laziness for voters and representatives alike. That's powerful stuff.

In a nutshell, and traditionally, Democrats are the party of the people; Republicans the party of big corporations. HOWEVER, especially in the past 6 years, the Republicans have now deteriorated to the point where they are not just the pro-corporation party but actually the ANTI-people, anti-American and anti-God party. The acts of the Bush administration against America, the world and the Republican Party constitute the greatest tragedy that has ever occurred in the history of the world. But hang in there -- just 2 more years to go!

A democrat represents the best interests of the people and the republicans represent those of special interests groups , democrats try to fight for what the country will benefit not just their own benefit and they are willing to spend the money they get from you and use it for your better being than how republicans waste it on the war and for themselves . They are the people's puppets , unlike republicans , the industries puppets .

Republicans tend to favor business and less government interference in business and peoples lives. In favoring business, the work climate, job availability and economy tends to be better.
Democras tend to believe in a more social set of programs drected in helping people. Provide health care, social programs, etc. government sponsored. If taxes need to be raised, so be it.
