It will help you get the better job that it will help you lose.
There was a study recently suggesting that people who drink have better employment positions. That supposition can be only associated to the socializing aspects of the people who drink.
There have been for years what were called the "Power Brunch" in which you could mix with executives have a few drinks and BS your way to a better position if you could impress one of the executives.
The bottom line however is that drinking can ultimately have an adverse affect not only on your health but every aspect of your life. The effects of alcohol are insidious and devastating. Do some research!

drinking alcohol doesn't help anything someone might enjoy drinking with you but they probably wont think you would make a very reliable employee drinking leads to alot of other things that will eventually take over your life you end up missing work your performance is not what it could be your personality slacks drinking takes alot away from a person that otherwise might be an excellent employee i have been sober for 7+ yrs and if i was drinking now there is no way i could keep up with my job and deal with people the way i have to i work in a very fast paced retail customer service position and drinking just doesn't mix have a good day

Actually..........yes. If you are a complete MORON who wants to be an alcoholic for a living! What is wrong with people? That's my question. If you have to drink to open up and, in essence, be someone else to get a job, then you shouldn't have that job. Drinking and working do not go together! Only people with problems drink at work.

1. If you are trying to get a job in the liquor sales industry, then yes, it will definitely help!
2. If you can hold your liquor and drink minimally and are a good socializer, at times it can help overall, but I don't feel this is a rule of thumb.
3. In most cases, however, I do not feel that drinking alcohol is a requirement for employment.

If you're looking for a job as a liquor taster, perhaps, otherwise, I doubt it.
