There is something in the candies that will not let it melt in your hands. You can hold them for a long time and it will not melt. As far as your mouth, they will melt there, mixed with the wetness and it is more warm there, so thats the difference. By the way, #1 Steelers fan, sorry bout the loss today, but MY Broncos were just repaying the favor from last year...Hee hee...woooohoooo go Denver...Good luck.

Nope. Your hand can be cold as heck but your mouth is still warm. It's always body temperature, since it's an internal organ (barely -_-) but your hand is not, and, indeed, it takes lower priority over heating your brain and torso, so they aren't the same temperature. But M&Ms can still melt in your hand... ¬_¬

Excellent question! Anything with starch or sugar melts in our mouth and not in our hand, not because of temperature, but because of enzymes. There are digestive enzymes in our salivary fluid that is not present in the hand, which starts to break down sugars on contact. Creative slogan though.

well you mouth will always be a bit warmer than your hand because your mouth is closed most of the time so it traps heat and even if your mouth was cold...its still wet!!! therefore the candy will melt!

well i mean they have a shell so its not likely they melt in your hand, but i dont think theyve ever melted in my mouth before ither, but your mouth has more moisture so that would have something to do with it
