Know how it feels... I had the same situation for 2 years straight but I am still at my original working place and had been for almost 4 yrs. Last yr, had a great offer with a higher pay but my current company counter offer the salary and I stayed on. The reason why I stayed was becos I had great working colleagues and they became great friends. I also feel that I know the ppl better and that even the bad things, I have gone thru already, so no big deal. This year again I was offered a job that pays me 2x my current salary, again my present company counter offer and gave me the 2x salary. I stayed on again.. the other job also had a 5 day work week. I stayed again, now its different, firstly was becos of the money and the bonus that I will get next year. Secondly, the familiarity of the work as well.
For yourself, if its for the nos of working hours/days, then you should re-consider the following :
1) If I stay, what is my career growth within the company? Is there anyone that recognises my contribution?
2) The new job, is there a career plan for me 2?
3) Between the two companies., which is the better one in terms of growth, $$ , and security? You don't want to jump ship and realize that the other company may "close" down or go bust
At the end of the day, its you. Are you comfortable? Are you happy with yr current job and your colleagues? Is there any satisfaction from yr every day job? Are you burn out from working evenings, weekends and hols? Are you paid for the long hours or its an expectation?
Have a little time of your own, sit and reflect and the answer will come to you. For the new offfer, don't judge it 1st, may be it is better, maybe not but we will learn from all this and be a better person
Good luck and hope that you will be happy wherever you are going....

Guess that depends on what you are wanting. Do you need a change? Sounds like you may want a more normal life and a Mon - Fri would be nice and not working any weekends. Having nights free and holidays. Is there any way you could work both jobs for a while to see if you want to quit the job you have? Just a thought if you are unsure of a move. Also may want to look at what the other job benefits are. Pay the same you said, but is there room to grow, move up in pay and better benifits? Changing jobs is a big decision, but one that can be very rewarding too! Hope this isn't just making it more confusing. *SMILE* Good Luck with your decision.

Other than having to work evenings, weekends and holidays are there any other negatives about your current job? And with your new job do you perceive any other benefits other than working a regular work week? Any negatives with that?
I guess you'll just have to do the old pro and con thing on paper and then make up your mind yourself as you haven't really given us much to go on. Is there a chance of advancement at your old job or is that better for the new one?
Good luck in your decision.

If you really don't like to work evening, weekends and holidays, I would take the Mon thru Friday job. Good Luck!

I would change jobs. In fact i think the american average for jobs is 4 years with one company before quitting and going to another.
I guess the best thing to do is to weigh the pros and cons of both places.... though, the new job does sound more ideal from the info you have given.

I say change jobs, you can not have a life working all the time. You will get burnt out eventually.

Switch to the new job, if you want some free time.
But yes, it is not easy to find people you like to work with. If it is me, I would take the new job.

The schedule is better, but you don't know what your getting with the coworkers and boss. If it were more money you might want to take a chance, but if its the same, stay where you are.
