My brother was falsely accused in Nevada at his community college. He believe the accusation was made because they want him to resign from his student government post. He thinks that if he resigns, the claim will go away. I don't. What do you think?

The Harrassment claim is from another guy. I know that my brother did not do it, because he is not gay. However, I think this claim makes him uncomfortable.

I was falsely accused of sexual harassment and I a female! At the place I worked these guys were making suggestive comments to me and all this... I just ignored them. One guy got mad and turned me in for sexual harassment! Said I was making suggestive remarks and wearing inappropriate clothes and I got written up, and then fired the next week. I talked to my lawyer and they agreed to take it off my record of employment, but wouldn't rehire me. What a load of crap! Tell him to get a lawyer!

If you were a priest (in any faith, because sexual harrassment does occur everywhere, but particularly in our nation of Catholic-bashers), the Archdiocese would probably pay the accuser to avoid the notoriety and a "nuisance lawsuit". That happens all the time in any vulnerable "deep pockets" organization, like churches, companies with an allegedly "defective product", real estate firms, and even police departments.

Now you know why you see two or more police cars at any incident on the highway, even a stop for speeding or a missing tail light. #1 - Backup so a lone cop doesn't get shot. #2 - Documentation of the incident to avoid claims of sexual harrassment.

These kind of things make me glad I'm a girl. Get him a good lawyer (and I mean good as in good at his job and honest) and give him support. Don't let him resign, that can give the impression of guilt and sexual harrassment charges can ruins a guy's life, proven or not.

Your brother needs to hire an attorney and ask him or her. Sexual Harrassment can be a serious issue regardless if you are guilty due to the reputation issues.

I wouldn't resign, I would talk to an attorney.

If untrue, and he resigns because of it without a fight, it may follow him into his working life. I would definitely fight it if it is false. But, it does make one curious as to if it is untrue, why is he giving up so easily or knuckling under to pressure? Points to ponder.......
