The older (& hopefully wiser) I get, the more I do this. You can't change others, but hopefully, you can change yourself.

I think you mean how often do I try to understand myself, as opposed to other people with my own brain/thoughts.

Honestly, I'd say about 15%, which I think has gone up since I was younger, and is also something I think is an improvement in my own well being generally.

I spend a lot of time wandering around "pondering" others - people I know, characters in books/TV shows/movies I enjoy, etc - but I think that through doing so I might be trying to understand myself, too. It's hard for me to analyze at all objectively why I do what I do, without ending up rationalizing it all - but once I've figured out why I think someone -else- acts in a particular way I can sometimes apply that theory back to myself ... So in answer to your question, I guess I spend a LOT of time trying to understand myself, I just do it indirectly ... uh, or maybe it just means I don't understand -other- people any better than I get myself =P

I mostly use my brain to understand myself. I'm the only one I have some measure of control over. I gave up trying to understand others a long time ago. Especially men. Or women...now cats, them I understand! Tee hee.

Meow. I nap, therefore I am.

Never. I understand myself well enough. I spend a great deal of time try to understand the type of person who puts credence in metaphysics. For instance; are they capable of feeding themselves?

All things through myself, as I am the lens for how I relate to the world. I am addicted to questioning... which really can be painful, as too much can cause a lot of anxiety.

But I do it to myself so....

I try to understand myself in relation to others. If I cannot relate to them, I'm not much use to the world.

I am far too emotional for that. Therefore, I try to understand the human race.

Uhhh. OK, so I use MY barin and not someone elses brain to understand myself?

Or do I understand myself with SOMEONE ELSES brain. OK, I get it...I take out their brain and put it my head...OH, that won;t work.

My brain hurts.
