"I'd rather be ashes than dust.
I would rather my spirit go out in a burning flame
than that it be stifled with dry rot.
I would rather be a splendid meteor, streaking across the sky,
every atom in my being a magnificent glow,
than to be a sleepy and permanent planet.
For life is to be lived and not to just exist,
and I will not waste my precious, precious days
simply trying to prolong them.
I will use every moment of my time,
and I will live every day to the fullest."

I love it. Of course, I've lately been feeling like I'm just existing, not living... so it hits home with me.

Beautiful. A more eloquent version of "Live fast, die young"? I agree that you should live life to the fullest, it should be dynamic, exciting, an adventure, rather than just a dull monotonous existence. Hopefully this doesn't mean it has to be a brief life. Often seems to work out that way. The more brilliant the bloom, the sooner they fade. If you play it safe, your life is less dangerous & may last longer. If you take risks, do dangerous things, then it may end...Life is quality not quantity but that also doesn't mean you should deliberately flirt with death. You can live life to the fullest without dying young.

Sweet! I would rather be one with the wind. I want to be wind when I die. Just to remind someone precious that i still exist in their hearts and will always be..&hearts

Sounds like a pride issue. God gave us an assignment and a place in life, so submit.
