Out of all the people that pursue acting careers, what percentage of them actually make it to the mainstream?

I think none unless you know somebody. Everyone in music and acting always has connections to help them get started.

It's like the IRS. ONe person works then they get their brothers in then fathers , mothers , sons.................

Almost every waiter in every restaurant in NYC is a member of the actor's union.

Probably the easiest way to become a successful actor is to write a great story that the studios want to make into a movie, and insist on starring in it yourself.

If you decide to pursue an acting career, then do it for the love of the craft. If you are any good, then success will find you.

Right around 5% make it and 95% don't. Becoming an actor is practically a vow of poverty.
