Not that I've ever heard. She'll come when she's ready, that's what everyone told me.

No its not a proven fact, its common in a first pregnancy that the baby becomes engaged early as it has time to stretch all the ligaments as the baby can be down in the correct position but not fully engaged, there is 5 stages of engagement, so ask your midwife what stage your baby is at. You may go early but not necessarily, maybe just on time. Another thing is on time can be 2 weeks either side of your estimated due date. Best wishes, and a lot of walking and squats will help with the engagement.

Baby can be head down very early, mover around a bit and then return to head down and stay there. Also baby can drop well before the actual birth. So this is not a good predictor of how near you are to the big day. Stay calm and relaxed and baby will come when it is ready.

Nope. My friend had an ultrasound at 10 weeks and baby was way down...now she is 38 weeks and baby is still there! With my first two kids, same thing and they were both a week late!
Good luck! Oh, and congrats!

No that is not true at all. AT 32 weeks, she still has time to move around. If she stays that low it may mean you will push her out faster, but there is no way you can predict how soon she will come or how long your labor will be.

No ! I've worked in a maternity hospital for 10 years now and I do not see this happening . Just take things easy . Do not stress out . Enjoy your pregnancy while it last . Like me , I'm missing all my three pregnancy already .

I've never heard anything like that, it sounds like an old wive's tale to me. My daughter was all the way down into my pelvis at 33 weeks and my doctor said that's perfectly normal and I can expect to deliver right at my due date. I wouldn't worry about it. But, as we pregnant women tend to worry about everything, I'd talk to your doctor or midwife about it.

Unless it was a doctor who told you this, ignore these "wive's" tales. I've been an OB/Gyn for 9 years, and never heard anything like that!
