I'd be much friendlier too if I lived there. Here, I wake up early in the morning, grab my breakfast and run for the train. There, I wake up and I see paradise.

Hawaiins are friendly to tourist for the same reason Japanese are friendly to tourist. For the Yankee Dollar. There was a song back in the '20s "Working for the Yankee Dollar" set in Havana but the idea is the same the world over. But get off the tourist circuit and get out among the natives and you will find Hawaiins/Japanese/Korean/Mexicans.....whatever.... are just like all the rest of us. Some friendly, some very unfriendly and most just plain indifferent.

cause they live in hawaii! i'd be freakin happy if i lived there too. new yorkers lead a more stressful life. hawaiins are more relaxed.
