If I just started seeing a woman, would it we wise to mention I had recently lost a lot of weight. I mean it is something I am proud of, (going from 255 to 220 and 195-200 by spring I hope), but is it something I talk about. Would she think that means I am motivated to improve my life or that its just a matter of time before I become a lazy slob again?

You have accomplished something wonderful & should be proud. I would tell her. I think the impression she should get is that you are in control of your life & taking charge of your health.

Ok you've only lost 35 pounds. That's no big deal. It hasn't made a dramatic change in your appearance. You're still a big man at 220 pounds. She's accepted you for being a tad chubby. Everyone has dieted and lost weight at some point in their lives. Even her. When the time is right. You must tell her. She wont care believe me. Why start a relationship off by hiding things from her? If you want a solid and trustworthy relationship. No secrets.

The matter of keeping it off is another story. That's when you have to solidify your life style change. Eat right and do some exercise. If she wants to be with you she'll in turn become more healthy. Good luck to you.

Congratulations... you deserve to be very proud of your accomplishment.
Don't tell her about it for a little while... it might scare her away... just give it enough time so you'll feel comfortable about telling her & then bring the subject up... by then, she should be more into you, enough to where you can tell her... & both of you will feel more comfortable about it.
Just make sure to tell her that it means you're motivated to improve your life... a lot of people (probably her too) believe there's always room for betterment in their lives.

It depends on how hard you are trying, do you really want to keep losing weight or are you just fine with your weight now. You can tell her but if I were to have a boyfriend losing weight then I would think that he is really motivated to lose weight, I wouldn't think that he is a slob. Hope that helps.

Wait until your relationship with the woman becomes more then solid before you tell her about the weight loss. If you tell her too soon during your courtship and then break up you might feel embarrassed that she knows this very intimate detail about you.

Tell her. Whatever her reaction, you will see for yourself what she thinks of you. If you are proud- so should she be. If she thinks otherwise she is not good for you. You need positivity. And congrats on the loss!

please don't bring it up until you get to know her MUCH better...that is a total turn off. same as people in AA discussing their former drinking binges...just focus on the present....not the past.
