I sat on a chair at the art gallery with wet paint on it!!!! oops.
I was told a cold wash would take the paint out, they were wrong!
What can I try without wrecking my new black pants????
All advice appreciated!

Your pants are already wrecked. No dry cleaner in the world knows how to remove paint, and if you get it out, you'll probably be one of the first.

That said, you might try some paint thinner. If your pants have any artificial fibers (Nylon, polyester, spandex...) they'll fall apart in the thinner, and even if they don't the dye might run... but you never know.

Carefully scraping the offending area with a knife might get most of the paint off, but this will leave the threads weak, and nappy. It might be better to just patch over the spots if they're small.

Sorry about the pants.
