Ok- My older brother's birthday is coming up and I want to get him this medieval sword that he's wanted for a long time, but the websites say you have to be 18 to buy the swords and I'm only 17. I have a check card that I make online purchases with already, but I want to know if the website has any way of determining my age from my billing info?

No just buy it. They really don't epect everyone to give their age any way. Just tell they you are 18 . If you were buying Insurance the company would charge you a rate for an 18 year old.
Most companies and govenment use the closest birthday anyway.
I would not let it bother me You are making an honest purchase for an adult. But if it deos bothe ryou get your parents top orderr it for you and pay them:)
.That's a nice gift. I have one of those in mind for someone age 11
I was told he was too young but his father brought him a 22 rifle two years a go:). I think it would be a neat gift.

I suggest that you have your parents buy it for you. They should be aware of the type of gift anyway if your brother still lives at home!

In many states, you have to be a minimum age to buy certain things, like weapons or cigarettes.

LYING about your age could, depending on your state law, the state law where the company is located, and the federal laws get you charged with a felony for lying, and a felony for being underage to purchase weapons, in either or both states; and the feds get into the act because you used the internet in the commission of a felony, and fraud charges also, (purchasing under false pretenses.) This is a possible 6 felonies carrying, (on the average), up to 10 years on each count, AND at 17, you COULD be charged as an adult in MOST states and federal courts.

Simply TRYING to buy it, considering the notice you say is posted on the web site, is ALSO a crime!!

It is NOT worth the risk.

We care about money. You can try to use it with site supporting online interact. Sites that require 18+, usually wany a credit card and that means your out of luck.

Your bank woul not release your age for a purchase. If they do, that's a lawsuite.!

YOU HAVE A CHECK CARD AT 17!? you're lucky!!!! anyways, there is no way that they can track your age through the credit or check card. only on eBay you cant register until you're 18; unless of course you fake your age.

If you have a check card, it does not give age.
SItes have this rule for their own protection in order to comply with various laws.

Well, you can always try to buy it and if they tell you no then you will know that they checked your age. Why not give the money to your parents and ask them to buy it for you? Would that not be easier?

No, they cannot find your age. Make sure your parents are OK with the purchase -- they are the ones who are on the hook.

No they dont. As long as you have a credit card that is how they determine it.
