i thought of using soap to clean off the grime on a plate and count the number of strokes (with the same ammount of force) it took to clean off the plate but i couldnt figure out what to stain the plate with or to put on the plate to test this idea.

Let barbeque grease settle on the plate and dry overnight and then use "Dawn" then "Palmolive" "Ivory" and one other. Let the grease set. Put the plates in the soapy water for a certain length of time without "swoshing " the water. My bet is on the Dawn.

How about getting a few small containers, half fill each with very warm water. Place a few drops of liquid cooking oil in each. Then place a drop or two of each dish liquid in, and watch to see which oil film disperses faster.

you could measure out same amounts of butter and smear it on the plate and see how well it comes off with the other soaps, also add some food coloring to the butter so u can see how well it comes off.

pour water in a bowl and add grease and then take different cooking oil and put a squirt of detergent in it and watch the grease move to the side of the bowl..not all detergents will move the grease only the good ones will..
