What about the hunter who is hunting the hunter who is now the prey? Does HE know when he becomes the hunted? And what about if he isnt being hunted, but he has succumbed to a parasitic infection? Does he know when he got it?

If a true hunter, then yes. It's all about the peripheral vision, or seeing the big picture, if you will.
