Inside the perimeter (I-285) is 404. As Atlanta grew they added 770 for outside the perimeter. When cell phones became popular they began running out of phone numbers and added 678.

Stay on the north side of the city. Forget anything that has to do with south of the city. It is safer for the most part on the north, as well as most of the schools are better. As long as you are in the metro Atlanta area you will have diversity. Look into Vinings, Sandy Springs, Norcross, Marietta, Roswell, Alpharetta, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Stone Mountain. Stay away from College Park, East Point, Hapeville, the southern part of the city.
