Is that creeping thing really serious?

It was actually based on a true story and the priest that preformed the exorcism is alive in a prison. What the scary thing is however that alot of what is said in the movie that the priest describes (like the naming of the demons, all 6) they are actually demons that you can find in the bible. The twist that it was God who allowed this and actually wanted this to happen isn't a surprise at all. The Old testament is full of vengeful things that God has done to reaffirm his existent in the world. So to actually say that this was something that i could not believe God would do would be lying.
So to answer your question no it wasn't creepy as much as it was yet one more thing God has given us that is beyond our understanding. I don't know how much of the movie was based on the actual accounts of the exorcism, but i think that the plot alone and the points that are made in the movie are enough for us (or me rather) to rethink alot of what I have learned about God. (no i am not saying i am not a christian, but i am saying that he might be more vengefully then we ever imagined)

I can honestly say that it's the only movie that has made me look for background information on it. Her corpse was exhumed eleven and a half years after her burial, only to confirm that it had decayed as would have been expected under normal circumstances. Today, her grave remains a place of pilgrimage for rosary-praying and for those who believe that Anneliese Michel bravely fought the devil.

In 1999, Cardinal Medina Estevez presented journalists in Vatican-City the new version of the "Rituale Romanum" that has been used by the Catholic Church since 1614. The updates came after more than 10 years of editing and is called "De exorcismis et supplicationibus quibusdam" otherwise known as "The exorcism for the upcoming millennium". The Pope approbated the new Exorcism Rite, which is now allowed for worldwide use. This new form of exorcism came after the German Bishop-Conference demanded to ultimately abolish the "Rituale Romanum". It also came more than 20 years after Anneliese Michel had died.

"in accordance with a real tale" does not recommend the unique tale easily occurred. Many in basic terms fictional thoughts have used that expression as part of their tale-telling, just to furnish it a splash extra exposure and fact. Fargo claimed to be in accordance with a real crime ... until eventually the Coen Brothers fessed up approximately it. The Amityville Horror replaced into based on the thoughts a financially overwhelmed family individuals made as much as get out from decrease than their loan (the DeFeo murders did ensue there, yet there is not any evidence that something the Lutzs claimed easily occurred). So I view the story of Anneliese Michel with a grain or 2 of salt. William Peter Blatty's tale The Exorcist is likewise in accordance with a "genuine" case of possession, btw.

I work in the psych field and I can tell you that many patients are tormented by voices, visual disturbances and tactile hallucinations.
Some psychotropic medications may produce the same physically contorting positions that she demonstrated in the movie; these are known as EPS. A good shot of benadryl can alleviate these painful symptoms quickly.
However, the fact that she was speaking fluently in langauges that she didn't study moves the experience away from a simple psychotic break.
Also, of all the patients I have known that claim to be tormented by demons or actually possessed, none of them have directly said that they are the devil himself.........
If you are intrested, check out the book,"Hostage to the Devil."
It was written by Father Malachi Martin, a real exorcist.

I really enjoyed the film and have always been really interested in true story adaptations. If you enjoyed that one, try An American Haunting, which is based on the story of the Bell Witch of Tennessee. I watched it last week and really enjoyed it, even looked up the Bell Witch on Google and have bought a book about it to give me more insight.

It was great, based on a true story too. If you thought that was interesting you should look up the old film Audrey Rose. It was about a little girl, god I think she was possessed....can't quite remember but she burned her hands on a frosty window....great flick, based on an actual case. Another good one in the paranormal realm, based on a real case and fully documented is "The Entity".......that will really freak you out!
