I happen to disagree, hardships, struggles, trials do make you learn very difficult lessons in life, but in the end you learn a lot and turn out a more evolved person and you become stronger, when you look back you see you were able to overcome such obstacles and made it.

I'm undecided. Hardships definitely teach you a lesson, but they do have the potential to make you weaker... It just depends on how well you "bounce back" from your hardship, and what it is, really. Eating disorders and things like that are hardships that would make you weaker (although it would allow you to be more empathetic and maybe even help someone with the same problem). Not that people with eating disorders are weak, but there's always that chance that the person who experienced such a hardship could go back to their old ways.

But certain hardships could allow you to be stronger in the long run. Losing a college scholarship for low grades, for example, could force someone to study harder in order to go back to college eventually, or it could force them to end up flipping burgers at the local Burger King, because they decided to give up. It really depends on what happens, what kind of person you are, and how willing you are to learn from past mistakes of both yourself and others.

From time to time in our life, I believe we are all tested with hardships of one kind or another. There are times we think we will never get through the problems we are given to deal with, but we usually have no choice but to sit down and figure out how to cope and handle each and every one of them. Just when we think in life things are looking up, we are hit again with another hardship or problem and wonder why, or when is it ever going to end! Some times when it rains it pours so as they say, and it does seem like that in life at times, but I strongly believe that with each hardship we get through and survive, we grow in knowledge, patience, and tolerance, and we learn, that the important thing is that we DID survive it all, and that alone is a great accomplishment! So many things have happened to me within a 5 year period, that I didn't know how I would ever deal with it all, or if I would ever enjoy simple things in life again, but finally the depression will lift, and we will feel stronger after we conquer all the problems thrown our way. It takes time to get over it all, but you will survive, and be a better person from it all, just hang in there!! Good luck and take care.

I agree to a point, only in the fact that when you are going through the hardships, it would wear you down tremendously. Stress is emotionally draining and feels like it will never end.

In the long run when you get older, you will be smarter and stronger. Trust me.

Harships can temporarily make us weaker, sometimes we have to ask god to carry us through what we are going through. However, in time and in hindsite and with many years to pass, these hardships may have been hard lessons by which we have become stronger little by little. I like to look at it like a blister, once a sore and open wound, hurts like hell, but then comes a callous in which there is double protection. Nature has its way to make us stronger to that which we are hurt by. When you are down call out to god, he is really the only one who you can count on to help. And, he is listening and waiting.

It only makes you weaker if you let it. You have to want to get past the hardship, you learn from it. And learning from it will give you the strength to get past it and go on.

i agree with you.Hardship is so idealized as some writers described in the books.there goes a say in ancient China"it would be better that no books available rather than to believe the books completely" Books may be used as a sort of tool to cheat other people.therefore,we should not be bookish
