I was wondering how long an Ipod nano (4GB) lasts before it needs to be replaced (one of the new ones)? And, when it needs to be replaced, can you just change the battery or do you need to get a whole new one?

do u mean how long does the warranty last
otherwise, it varies greatly, if u keep it in good condition eg. keep it in room temperature, it should last 2-3 years
ipods, however are known to crash and are less reliable (in some ppl's opinions) when compared to other mp3 players on the market, such as the iriver or creative.

If you are asking until it breaks I've had my iPod nano 2nd generation 4GB for 9 years and it's still going strong. Depends on how you use it, if it freezes up, put it in the freezer overnight and it will unfreeze but even though i have had to buy a second bigger one to fit new music, I don't plan to get rid of it until it completely breaks - makes no sense to throw it out when it does the job. As I have a bigger second one I will wait until my first one breaks and then redownload the music from it onto my second one. Simple.

Mine lasted perchance only decrease than 3 years. They make the touches extra suitable and that they final longer yet at some point my nano exhibit screen only went somewhat, somewhat darkish and it deleted each little thing on my ipod. I related it and not something and than the exhibit screen only iced up and than it close off and not in any respect performed a song returned.
