1. As an engineer, I've worked intimately with high-technoloogy. The interesting thing is that many people are unaware of some of the ways technology influences their lives. From the sensors that control the airbags in their cars, to traffic indicators with burried sensors, to cell phones, and even the way mail gets sorted. It's ubiquitous.

2. Technology helps in research, in travel and even entertainment.

3. Technology, when it malfunctions can be extremely frustrating. About the only thing it doesn't help with is in enjoying the out-doors, as long as you don't count the technology in your footwear, and you don't use a GPS.... etc.

4. I know many people who've gotten together on MySpace and other sites. I, too have made friends. Certainly it's helping people to get together in some ways. On the other hand, if you spend all your time on the computer, you tend to lose the real-life relationships that are very important.

5. False dichotomy. People want to see things as good or bad; right or wrong; innocent or guilty; straight or gay; whatever. Technology can't be pinned down to such a thing. I think that technology is purely neutral. It's how it is used that is good or bad. Just like a gun, an inanimate object. It could be used to gather food, for protection from wild animals, or even as a hammer. It could also used to commit a crime. The object, or technology has no inherent good-ness or bad-ness.

6. Technology is becoming more ubiquitous and more embedded in our lives. It will continue on to the point where we view it as an extension of ourselves, like clothing. We hopefully will use it more and more, but not become so dependent on it that we are unable to function without it.

7. That's an impossible question as every tool we have is technology. From the early spears to kill game, to heated rocks to keep oneself warm in the cold. People tend to think of computers and cell phones and automobiles as technology, forgetting that they are simply logical extensions of the technology of our forebears. To attempt to exist completely without technology leaves one naked in the woods.

Without computers or telephones or automobiles, some of us would still be quite happy, knowing how to survive without these things. Hopefully I could retain some of my books (technically, they are technology), and I could be quite comfortable (assuming that the technology deficit happened during the spring or summer and I was able to prepare for the harsher seasons).

1.- How do you apply technology in your daily activities.
Technology is applying a systematic technique, method or approach to solve a problem. Much of today's technology implies the use of computers and electronics which is what I think you are discussing. So technology has been with us always from early man discovering fire and learning to create weapons. My tech today is the computer - which I use at work and home
2.- When does technology help you achieve something?
I can find any place with just an address with a map program on the internet and get driving directions. Now days people use a GPS device in their car that help them do the same thing. Every function I do at work is managed on the computer. It would be nearly impossible to do everything I do without the technology of the computer.
3.- When does technology not help you to achieve something?
When the Microsoft car crashes - even doing the dishes is done with technology and when that technology breaks down - I do them by hand - but at least I don't have to go to the well to draw water and make a fire to heat it.
4.- Do you think technology is getting people together?
Of course - people had pretty much quit writing letters but there has been a resurgence of that with e-mail and IM. For instance I just started using Yahoo IM and it pulled all e-mail addresses out of my address book and sent them an invitation to join me. I had an address from many years ago of someone I thought I had lost when they went out of the country. Lo and behold they responded and we have reconnected after many years and find we are both grandmas. This is the right now generation and IM lets us connect right now.
5.- Is technology good or bad?
I really do not think that is a logical question - technology just is and always will be because as mankind we will always try and build a better mouse trap and how can that be bad? Except maybe for the mouse. So it depends on the individuals point of view.
6.- How do you think that technology will help us in the future and how is going to affect us?
Much better question. I think there will be things that we cannot even dream of today. The way we do things have improved over the years. We are much more efficient at everything. I think Disney's Carrousel of Progress says it all and in every aspect of our life.
7.- What would you do if you did not have technology?
As I stated before there has always been technology in one form or another i.e. ancient man discovering fire and how to make and use tools. If you are talking about computers and electronics it would be hard to imagine not having these tools but I'm sure I would get along somehow even if I had dishpan hands and writers cramps.

1. to make things easier, to be more efficient in my school work, etc.

2. When I am researching, it's pretty easy to get answers in the internet. Again, efficiency in school work.

3. When i'm tempted to use it for other purposes not primarily intended by the manufacturer

4. For some, yes, especially if people communicating are in different states or country or it is not possible for them to meet physically. But some, no.

5. There's no concrete anwer. It depends on how the person use technology. Does it benefit him and others in a good way?

6. Technology today advances rapidly, and will be more rapid in the following decades. I think, technology will solve the problems we have today, like climate change, AIDS, etc. We will have answers for that. We will be more dependent on technology for survival.

7. Ever since, man has had technology. The wheel, thousands of years ago was considered technology, even today, it is still technology. You have to rephrase your question, i believe. Do you mean high tech? Well, if i don't have it, i guess I just have to live with it or if i were a genius, i would create my own :-)

Technology is only bad when we look back upon it. LIke in the industrial age, when we discovered natural gas and crude oil, now we see it as, why did we do that, we destroyed the enivornment. We look at future things and we view em as the best there ever was, but thats what the world did when we discorvered gasoline fueled cars and stuff like that.

Technology is the thing of why we are here. Techonology is everywhere. Look at your computer you're typing this on. Technology. Lightbulbs, Technology, Writing, technology. You get the point. We may think only high class things like car, and hydrogen fueled stuff as technology, but things like Heiroglyphics are technology, a way of comunitcation. The Pestle and Mortar, technology. Etc.

Well, good luck with the debate

Technology is a blessing when it comes to recent medical advancements, however, it became a curse when people prefer to text message or IM over real life conversations.
