Breastfeeding helps you burn lots of calories.
Remember.....9 mos on and 9 mos off.
You'll get there!
BUT...keep in mind that your bones in your pelvis shifted around to allow baby out. Your hips may not be the same shape, even if you lose all the weight. I was shocked that when I was back to my pre-PG weight after my first, I still had pants that wouldn't fit because of that!

Your hips have widened so you probably will not return to the exact same pants size as before but you might. Also, your stomach area muscles have stretched so this will take a lot to get belly completely flat again if you can. But if you keep working at this and exercise every day than you should lose weight and feel better about yourself. I weighed 125 pounds when I became pregnant with my daughter which was when my son was six months old. I weighed 165 pounds two days before delivery. I had lost 20 pounds (weighed 145 pounds) at my six week postpartum checkup. Now I am down to 115 pounds. My belly muscles are not tight by any means but I feel healthy. My daughter is six months old so it is probably possible to have a flat tummy (or more flat) after a year or so. Breastfeeding helps you burn calories as well.

You really gained a whole lot of weight during your pregnancy, so you're doing very well at dropping the weight afterward! If you gained 54 pounds and have dropped 36 pounds by six weeks, you're right on track. Give your body a few months, as the weight will continue to drop, but most likely at a slower pace than it has been. (Those pounds right before you get to your ideal weight are notoriously hard to lose). If you're going to the gym almost everyday, you are dedicated, and will probably get back down to your normal size. Congrats and good luck!!

The chances of you going back to a size 3 are slim....but a 5 or 7 is likely. Your body changes after you have a baby...you will probably never have the same figure you did before you had a baby. I, like you, was 120 for a long time before I got pregnant, went up to 170, and now I'm 145. My chest got huge when I was pregnant (and I was already a full D) and never went down. My body just changed completely.

Some women take a few months, some a year or so, and still others never get back to normal. You seem to be very determined, so you will probably get toned very fast. If you want to lose a lot of fatty weight fast, try breastfeeding - it's better for your baby to have only breastmilk for the first 5 to 6 months....and it eats up a LOT of your calories too! I used to be 125, then I went to 210 while pregnant. In just 3 months I went down to 160, even though I was eating like a piglet, 'coz my little one was a very voracious milker! I lost more weight since then, but haven't gone back to normal yet......although someone as determined as you who goes to the gym everyday should have no trouble shrinking back to normal. Uh, just in case you already LOOK fine but are still heavy weight-wise, remember that muscles weigh so much more than fat.

If you are breastfeeding, it will make things a lot easier for your weightloss (and of course is better for your baby!) If you're in your 20's, it will be easier, in your 30's a bit more challenging, however, I lost all the baby weight (and more!) from nursing and keeping active by 2 months but it took me a while longer to get my belly back in shape. I'd say by 9 months, I was exactly back to where I was in terms of clothing size, and feeling and looking fit (but that is unusual.) Be aware that if you are breastfeeding, you need to be very smart about eating well and enough...this is not the time to diet. Be patient...you've already lost so much in only 6 weeks...be healthy and enjoy your baby.

I had my daughter 6-moths ago and I am smaller now than before I was pregnant (size 4 to a size 2)...HOWEVER...my body is not at all the same as it used to be. I too work out daily and have just excepted that my child is worth so much more than the specific way my body used to look. Just think what your tiny frame went through during pregnancy!
Keep active and feel good about yourself!

A few things will help- breastfeeding for one. You use up a lot of energy when you breastfeed. You do still have to eat a lot of calories to produc the milk, but moms who are breastfeeding tend to loose pregnancy weight quicker.

You might also want to wear your baby. Get a good sling like the kangaroo karrier or a mei tai or wrap. When you go grocery shopping, instead of bringing in the carseat, wear your baby in the sling or carrier. At home, wear your baby around the house. Get a yoga ball and use it instead of a chair at the computer. This is how we get our son to fall asleep often- wear him and bounce on the yoga ball.

You should still keep in mind the 9 month rule. It took 9 months to gain the weight, give yourself 9 months to get it off.

It takes 6 months to a year for your body to heal-nevermind fitting back into your old clothes right now... concentrate on your baby- after that time- as your body heals you'll loose the baby weight.. eat healthy/lots of walking..

Only about 60% of woman go back to the pre-pregnancy weight.
After about 6-8 months... you might be able to start a better exercise routine if your still concerned about your weight..

Well, you may never go completely back to normal.... probably will never be back to your old shape... you may get to a size 3 again, but it will be hard as your hips and everything change position in the body to accommodate a pregnancy. Just keep at it.... it took you 9 months to put it on, it is not recommended to do it in less than 9 months... but alot do.. . So in a nut shell... you probably don't want to hear this.. but you should be back to as normal as your gonna get within 9 months of birth!
