Hey, I love British people. You are our mother country. I think the accent is sweet! And London has some pretty awesome sights. Of course we like the British from a military perspective, but that's only a very small thing in a whole ocean of reasons. By the way, my uncle is British, and he's one of the most awesome people I have ever known; he's always giving me hugs!

The British folks I know are extremely nice, and aren't like the "stuffy" stereotype that most Americans picture. Also, I think British people have beautiful accents, and I find it easier to understand you when you talk (as opposed to Southern Americans, whom I have difficulty understanding usually, even though I've lived in the South all of my life). I can't judge whether or not I like ALL British people, because that would be too much of a sweeping statement, but I've honestly never met a British person that I've disliked. So far, so good.

I like Brits a lot!
I still feel a kinship because the founders of the USA were all British and so were more than half of my own fore-mothers and fore-fathers.
Also, I've only been to London, but I think I got a pretty clear picture of the English, at least. And I had a lovely time and didn't experience any shoddy ("you ugly American") treatment. However, that was pre-war.
So my take--the British are cool--and so is your pop-culture (tv. music. couture etc. . .)
I do appreciate that the British stand along-side us and fear they won't much longer. I'm sorry we are mired in this sorry war together.
BTW: I live in the South (VA) and I've noticed Brits are quite attracted to a Southern accent. One reason for this is that it sounds a bit more British than say, a New England or Midwestern accent (to address someone above).

NO,... not from a military perspective. Thats just politics....though its well appreciated and commended by the American people as a whole....even though the many Brits seem to resent it... and resent Americans for it.
Once you remove politics from the equation, British people,....in general, are friendly, warm, welcoming, helpful,.... and just plain likable. Alot of Americans are of British heritage, because until the revolutionary war,... we WERE British. So we try to relate to you, understand you,... and many of us still identify with being British.
Some of the best times of my life were spent in Britain. I love it there.... and I love British people.

Personally, I find it odd how stiff and controlled some British people seem to be. I mean, if you told a British person that their house was on blazing fire, they wouldn't scream and run around, they would say,
Effie: "Oh dear, Aunt Eugenia's kettle was in the hutch. Do you think it's alright, Edgar?"
Edgar: "Oh yes, Effie, quite. That hutch went through the war, you know. If it can withstand Jerry, it can withstand a fire."
Effie: "Yes dear, but Aunt Eugenia was such a dear old thing. I do hope it's alright."
Edgar: "Yes, quite."
I just think it's funny how stiff some British people can be. That's probably a stereotype, but it seems true all the same.

Brits are "stuffy" and know it alls, but they are ok. We DO appreciate their military backing also. Most Americans have some English blood in them.
