Definitely tell your landlord. It sounds like way too many things on one circuit. So when you use a couple of things at once, it blows it.

Check the fuses to make sure they are screwed in tight, first. If you continue to hear buzzing or crackling coming from the fuse box, it could be arcing, which could be very dangerous. If the fuse box is in a dark place, take a flashlight along and open the cover to the fuse area. Then turn off the flashlite and watch the fuses while someone uses some electrical devices throughout the house. If you see little flashes of light coming from the area of the fuses, tell your landlord that the house could burn down if he doesn't get it fixed. Then if he doesn't do anything right away, call someone in the city or county government, sheriff's dept, or something to tell them about the hazard. I've seen these old boxes with insulation in them that's ready to fall out on the floor. They can be really dangerous.

Well...you stated it. I rent this OLD HOUSE. Usually the service for the entire house was maxed out at 60 Amps. New houses are built with 200 Amp services now.

Not much you can do. The electric should be check as the connections could be loose inside the main panel. Loose connections draw more current and heat up which can be a possible fire hazard.

Have an electrician take a look at the fusebox... Since the house is old, maybe he could fix it so the breaker(s) won't keep popping off... That IS a fire hazard...!
