4 + 2(w - 3) = 3w - 2(w + 5)
4 + 2w - 6 = 3w - 2w - 10
2w - 2 = w - 10
w = -8

4+2(w-3)=3w-2(w+5)
4+2w-6 = 3w-2w-10
2w-3w+2w = -10-4+6
w = -8

4+2(w-3)=3w-2(w+5)
First, get rid of the parentheses:
4+2w-6=3w-2w-10
Then add like terms:
2w-2=w-10
Then move all the terms with w to one side:
w= -8

4+2(w-3)=3w-2(w+5)
4+2w-6=3w-2w-10
2w-3w+2w=6-4-10
w=-8

check
4+2(-8-3)=3(-8)-2(-8+5)
-18=-24+6
