First of all: Tattie Herbert.

If you mess up nothing will break. Do your homework and get out of here!

1) There is an 3pin switch on the motherboard. It says "clr cmos".
Put it from 2-3 to 1-2 switch on the computer, switch it off, put it back to 2-3.
The cmos is now reset.

2) I turned off Soundcard, Modem and Videocard (Use better ones) and set the boot option to c: only set memory to turbo and disabled floppy and enabled s.m.a.r.t. capability and cable detect on ATA100.

The system BIOS is the brain of the computer, it controls all the hardware and drives.
Messing with it will render your computer useless, and you will have to buy a new motherboard to fix.
Obviously you do not know what you are doing to ask the question, so LEAVE IT ALONE!

Do you mean in the CMOS Setup screen, as you boot, and it says
"hit the del key"? on most systems?

I turn off the 64Mb hole for OS2, and turn off plugnplay that is for ISA as I recall.

Anyway, I make sure the drives are all on auto.

Then, I boot the http://pclinuxos.com that takes over for the bios, anyway!

What a strange question.
Why do you ask?

I have disable the integrated video.
(I have my own video card)

I have disabled the integrated audio.
(I Have my own sound card)

And I have disabled the integrated NIC.
(I have my own Network Card)

I also had to ENABLE the integrated USB after a re-load.
