where I live its 2 days for vaginal, 3 for c section

Standard is one day vaginal and up to three c-section. I had to stay two days due to my blood pressure, if not we would have been out of there late the next day. They want to get you out as soon a possible these days due to insurance. Believe me when I say to appreciate and take advantage of your stay in the hospital. Make sure to ask questions and get good advice. Sleep as much as you can and eat good meals. Once you come home you will have no time for this, though you do not think about it because you have a miracle. Good luck with your new addition.

2 days is about average.
If you don't want to stay and you and baby are both healthy, there is no reason you need to stay more than a couple of hours. Ask your doc/MW how early you can leave if you'd rather not be there.
I left about 19 hours after my first was born.
My second was born in a freestanding birth center. We stayed about 10 hours since she was born just after midnight. If it wasn't the middle of the night, we would have gone home sooner.
My third was born at home. So much more relaxing!

It depends on when your doctor will release you. My doctor said a minimum of twelve hours is what she is comfortable with. If your doctor won't let you go you can always leave anyway (it's your right to leave and your right to take your baby) but it's a hassle. Probably better to wait until the doctor okays it unless you have a good reason for wanting to leave.

Legally they have to let you stay at least two days with a vaginal delivery and four days with a c-section.

The hospital that I delivered in, kept you one to two days. If you had the baby in the morning, they actually asked you to be up and showered a few hours later, and asked you if you would like to leave that night. If you delivered that night (vaginally, I am speaking of), they had you get up bright and early in the morning, take your shower, and ask you if you would like to leave in the late morning to late afternoon. You could stay two days if you or your doctor insisted... due to insurance coverage quams, it is an in and out business around this area.

it all depends on hospital policy, if you have a c-section, if there are any health problems but mostly 2-3 days
with my first i stayed 2 1/2 days and with my second i left the next day.

Well i live in New Jersey and here it is 2 days if you give natural birth and have no fevers or hemorrhoids or any other medical issues. If you have a c-section than it is about a week, considering that all goes well.

If it's a natural birth with no complications you get to go home the second morning after your delivery. For example.. if you give birth Friday night you get to go home Sunday, late morning. If its a c-section, 5 days.
