It's still a bit controversial, since Amnesty International didn't think it was a fair trial. I've heard that people at Tikrit are protesting his guilty verdict. In my opinion, I think he gets what he deserves ... hanging. Maybe Al-Queda will take a hike, and the war would end within a year from now. He's another huge victory for us and for Iraqis to have a safer country.

1. I would have been surprised if he wasn't found guilty.
2. Also he gets an appeal.
3. Saddam deserves to die. He authorized horrid chemical sprays on villages inhabitted by the defenseless, tortures, etc. (I'd say that qualifies for the death penalty and/if any penalty beyond the temporal sphere awaits him I'd say he deserves that as well.

Saddam will carry! He has in easy terms one attraction under Iraqi regulation, which must be filed interior 30 days. The courtroom has an endless time to respond to it. putting him will carry some justice to the families of his sufferers, even nevertheless that's going to additionally carry an advance interior the violence against our troops. The unrest will escalade for a while and often is the reason of the U. S. to stay interior the country.

Did anybody really think he wouldn't get this ? I'm sure he's not surprised. He was saying all along the trial was a charade.
I guess he did some atrocities. Wouldn't it be weird if someone tried to charge George Bush for war crimes for illegal detentions without Habias Corpus, violations of national sovereignty, and authorizing torture and illegal wiretaps on his own people without a warrant, for acts of treason for his assault on our constitution by holding the executive branch unnacountable to the people he supposedly represents and their representatives the congress?
For allowing his closest supporters big oil and Halliburton to get fantastically rich while practically bankrupting our country with his outlandish spending? That would be a trip.
Also, saying Saddam killed thousands of people?
so far, minimum number of Iraqi civilian casualties since we invaded- 45,500. Possibly 50,000.
Aren't we responsible for that since we invaded unprovoked and under false pretenses?

I agree that no one should be able to sentence someone else to death. Only God should be able to decide this. On the other hand Saddam shouldn't have killed or had people killed. It wasn't up to him either. I think that Saddam should be locked up for life and in his after life its up to God.

I say that he rot in jail.
Let him think about what he did.
Let the people visit him there.
Let him hear the differences between Christianity and Islam and how his is a rip off of ours.
Let him die when it is his time.
"An eye for an eye." they say, but who's going to enjoy the revenge when we are all blind?

I think his trial and sentencing was carried out in a fair and just manner. All the innocent people he killed and had killed did not have the luxury of having a trial.

They should have shot him as soon as they found him. It would have saved a few more lives and time and money. I say good riddance! But he's not dead yet and may be years if ever. What if he escapes or they break him out?

I'm not crazy about capital punishment either, but there are some crimes that scream for the death penalty. Saddam's crimes are such crimes.
