What writing style does Tim O'Brien use in his book: "If I Die in a Combat Zone: Box Me Up and Ship Me Home"?

In English, we're doing a research paper on our summer reading book. I've read it, yes, so would appreciate those of you who just go around telling people to actually read it to not mention anything here.

I've already got an idea of his style, but i need critics and other quotes to back up my paper, and i'm having a hard time finding it. if someone could just give me some good links for looking up style analysis, I'd greatly appreciate it.
